KARACHI, June 14: The Sindh government has declared the entire Tharparkar and Badin districts, 39 Talukas of 10 districts and 35 Dehs of defunct Malir taluka as calamity-hit areas. These areas have been declared so in view of irrigation water shortage and draught conditions in the respective areas.

According to a notification issued by the Relief Department here on Friday, the entire Tharparkar and Dadu districts have been declared as calamity-hit areas.

The districts in which a number of Talukas have been declared as calamity-hit are as under.

Thatta district: Thatta Taluka, Shah Bunder, Jati, Keti Bunder, Mirpur Sakro, Ghora Bari, Kharo Chhan and Mirpur Bathoro.

Mirpurkhas district: Mirpurkhas Taluka, Umerkot, Pithoro, Kunri, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Digri and Samaro.

Badin district: Badin, Tando Bago, Shaheed Fazal Rahu and Talhar Talukas.

Ghotki district: Mirpur Mathelo, Ghokti and Khan Garh Talukas.

Sanghar district: Khipro, Sanghar, Sinjhoro and Jam Nawaz Ali Talukas.

Larkana district: Shahdadkot, Warah and Qambar Ali Khan Talukas.

Jacobabad district: Jacobabad, Thul and Ghari Khairo Talukas.

Sukkur district: Rohri, Saleh Pat and Pano Akil Talukas.

Khairpur district: Nara, Faiz Gunj and Mir Wah Talukas.

Shikarpur district: Shikarpur and Ghari Yasin Talukas.

The 35 Dehs of the defunct Malir district include Modian, Jhangkand, Kand, Khar, Shorkand, Wankad, Lusar, Bhad, Terari, Soondhi, Jhunjbar, Mcharjabala, Gadap, Huderwah, Langheji, Karmatiani, Shoring, Bolhari, Shahi Chib, Kathore, Chuhar, Khaeji, Abdar, Boil, Amilano, Ghanghar, Pipri, Dhabeji, Koterio, Bakran, Konkar, Kharkharo, Tore, Thadho and Khakhar Dehs.—PPI
