PESHAWAR, Oct 31: Director of Iranian Cultural Centre, Raeesus Sadaat, has said that Allama Mohammad Iqbal, who led the Ummah through his poetry, is an asset for the Urdu and Persian.

Speaking at a gathering students at Khana Farhang-i-Iran here on Wednesday, he said Allama Iqbal preached for the unity among Muslims and made his poetry as an effective medium to communicate to his people.

Sabir Kalorvi, chairman of Urdu department of Peshawar University also spoke on the occasion.

The ceremony was organised in the honour of the students who took part in an essay competition on Allama Iqbal and Islamic unity, held under the auspices of the Urdu departments of Peshawar University.
