PESHAWAR, June 13: Germany’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr Christopher Bruemmer, has assured his country’s full support to NWFP’s gems and mineral sector observing that there exists greater opportunities for bilateral trade of precious and semi-precious stones.

Addressing members of the All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association (APCEA) during his visit to the association’s office here on Thursday, the German ambassador said exporters from both the countries dealing in gems, minerals, precious and semi- precious stones stood greater business opportunities.

The German ambassador assured the APCEA’s members that procedure for seeking visa for Pakistani traders intending to visit Germany would be made easy, says a Press release issued here on Wednesday,.

Similarly, he added, gemstones’ export from Pakistan to Germany would also be made easy.

On this occasion he also assured the exporters that his country would try to extend full cooperation in the manufacturing sector and transferring modern technology and machinery to facilitate Pakistani exporters.

He said German experts would shortly visit the NWFP to impart training to the students of the newly set up Gems and Gemological Institute, Peshawar.

Earlier, the Association’s chairman Shafi Mohammed explained the main features of the NWFP gem stones sector. Later, the ambassador visited the Gems Institute and inquired about the courses the institute offers.
