Seminar on financial system

KARACHI, June 13: The State Bank has prepared a document “Pakistan: Financial Sector Assessment (1990-2000)” that will be the theme of a day-long seminar being organized next Tuesday at the Institute of Bankers Pakistan.

According to a SBP press release, Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz will inaugurate the seminar. More than 170 persons, including policy-makers senior government officials, leading bankers, businessmen, researchers, analysts, academicians, representatives of stock exchanges, DFIs and international financial institutions are expected to attend the seminar.

The main objective of the conference is to solicit the views of the stakeholders of financial system on the major findings and conclusions of the SBP document.

The agenda of the conference is the search for future directions of the financial system in the light of the findings of SBP draft report and assessment of remaining weaknesses of the financial system as currently perceived.
