FAISALABAD, June 12: The recently constructed boundary wall of Borstal collapsed during the windstorm which lashed the city on Tuesday night.

The Borstal houses 354 juveniles. The jail administration declared emergency and called police to avoid any untoward incident. Heavy police contingents rushed to the spot and encircled the jail.

Insiders said there was no solid security arrangements when the wall collapsed but no juvenile tried to escape. They were shifted to the central and district jails.

It may be noted that the roof, walls and floors of the newly constructed jail have developed cracks. The Borstal, spread over an area of 68 acres with a covered area of about 23 acres, was completed recently after 12 years at a cost of Rs60 million.
