FAISALABAD, June 11: Eight-year-old daughter of a revenue office patwari was killed by kidnappers here on Tuesday.

Reports said Farzand Ali’s daughter Zunera was kidnapped by some people on Monday night when she was playing outside her house in Gulfishan Colony, in the Jhang Bazaar police station limits.

On Tuesday morning, her parents found the girl lying in pool of blood in the street. The body was shifted to the local Allied Hospital for postmortem.

Police have registered a case.

ARRESTED: The district police claimed to have arrested 136 proclaimed offenders with illicit weapons during a special campaign in May.

A police spokesman in a statement on Tuesday claimed the police launched the campaign on the orders of District Police Officer Tassaduq Husain.

He said the police also arrested 353 people with illicit arms and 247 pushers.

NOTICES: The local environment protection department has issued notices to 50 shopkeepers warning them against selling empty chemical barrels, it is learnt on Tuesday.
