PIA and HBL qualify for super league

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 30: PIA and Habib Bank recorded hard fought victories in the PTCL Cup football tournament before qualifying for the super league stage Tuesday.

PIA were made to sweat by Crescent Mills Faisalabad before winning 4-3 while HBL earned a 3-2 victory Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

PIA and Crescent Mills were locked in a 2-all at lemon time.

For the national carriers, Zahid Niaz (2), Shahid Ismail and Nasim Akhtar were the scorers while Adeeb Iqbal (2) and Shahid Farooq reduced the margin for Crescent Mills.

HBL led PAF 2-1 at the breather.

Salim Shahid, Arshad and Abdul Samad scored for the winners while Latif and Mohammad Afzal found the cage for the airmen.
