LAHORE, Oct 1: The Delcam of Birmingham, UK, the world’s leading developer and supplier of CAD/CAM software, will donate power mill and power shape software worth $1.2 million to the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.

Punjab Finance Minister Tariq Hameed will be chief guest at a ceremony being held at the UET on Tuesday in this regard.

This software assists in computer-aided design and computer-aided machining for use in three-dimensional design, manufacture and inspection of high precision components and complex shapes. It is already being used by more than 2,500 organizations in over 40 countries.

The Synthetic Products Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd, the partner of the Delcam, has lured the company to make this donation.

A SPEL spokesman hoped the software would equip the UET with the most modern software technology and would go a long way in upgrading skilled manpower in Pakistan.—APP
