ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: The judicial magistrate, Syed Muzaffar Ali Shah, on Tuesday rejected the bail petition, moved on behalf of a fake CIA inspector, who had defrauded several residents of the capital.
The accused, Atta Mohammad, was arrested by the Margallah police few days ago while impersonating himself as an inspector of the CIA and allegedly depriving several businessmen of thousands of rupees.
The accused had allegedly looted some other businessmen through other methods, thus the police also registered cases of dacoity against him.
The defence counsel contended before the court that there was no worthwhile and solid evidence with the prosecution against his client. He insisted there were contradictions in the story, narrated by the prosecution.
The prosecution insisted that the accused was a hard core criminal and had been looting innocent citizens for quite along time and if he was granted bail, the inquiries being conducted into the alleged frauds he had committed could be affected.
The court, after listening the arguments of the two sides, rejected the petition of the accused, detained at Adiyala jail, Rawalpindi.
