QUETTA, June 7: Police have registered cases against 10 leaders of Ponam, the ARD and the Balochistan Labours Federation for allegedly making “objectionable speeches” against the Balochistan government at a protest meeting, held in support of the striking government employees.

According to official sources, the provincial authorities have taken a serious notice of the provocative speeches made at the protest meeting the other day and directed the police officials concerned to register cases against all these leaders.

Cases have been registered against Abdul Rahim Mandokhel, senior vice-chairman of the Pushtoonkhawa Milli Awami Party; Abdul Wali Kakar, acting president of the Balochistan National Party (Mengal); Abdul Malik Baloch of the Balochistan National Movement, Shamim Afredi, central treasurer of the Jamhoori Watan Party, Abdul Mateen Akhundzada of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Amanullah Kasi Qaumi of the National Party, Rafiq Awaan, Nisarullah and Khan Zaman of the BLF and Balochistan Teachers Association President Abdul Ghafar, reports of our staff correspondent.
