PESHAWAR, Oct 30: The German Development Corporation (GTZ) donated diagnostic equipment, which are used in the field of pulmonology, to the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH).

The equipment, worth one million rupees, was handed over to   KTH chief executive Dr Zahir Shah here at a brief ceremony by GTZ representative Muhammad Javed.

Dr Shah said that such help in the health sector would not only helped the people, but would also cemented friendship ties between the two countries.

He said there had been no dearth of professionals in the health sector in Pakistan, but the only thing that was lacking was latest equipment.

He hoped that professionals would and could do their best if developed countries helped them by providing them with latest scientific equipment.

Dr Shah thanked the GTZ on behalf of the NWFP government, and hoped that the equipment would improve the health system and would be beneficial to patients.
