Heatwave cripples life in Dadu

DADU, June 6: The people of Dadu District experienced the hottest day of the season on Thursday as the mercury soared to 51 degrees Celsius, which affected business and transport in the district.

A large number of people fell unconscious in various parts of the district including Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Johi, Sita, Dadu, Bhan Saeedabad, and Phulji towns. They were admitted to various hospitals.

GAMBLERS: Nine gamblers were arrested by the Drigh Bala police in a raid at a gambling den in Drigh Bala town on Thursday.

Police seized Rs5,000 and playing cards from their possession.
