Nazim suspends officials

SANGHAR, Nov 10: Officials of the education department, including district officers, were suspended on Thursday for not attending a meeting called by District Nazim Khuda Bux Rajar at the Darbar Hall.

The district nazim also suspended 127 field officers of the agriculture department.

The nazim called meetings of education and agriculture departments to get information about functioning and use of millions of rupees of school management committees.

He asked officials who were on deputation to go to their original departments.

EDO Jam Khan Hingorjo was not able to justify how more than Rs10 million of SMC funds were used.

The official even could not reply about how many schools were closed or what was strength of teachers at various high schools.

It was indicated that at Mohammad Ibrahim village of the Sanghar taluka, there was a school where eight teachers were posted for eight students.

The situation at the Allah Dino Behan village high school is not different.

No one in the meeting was able to explain about the distribution of free books.

DCO Allah Ditto Shar said that Rs60 million had been disbursed to landlords for lining of watercourses but only a few watercourses had been lined and it was apprehended that the amount had been misappropriated.

The DDO and ADOs of the education department who were suspended included Raja Ahmed Nawaz (DO primary), Mir Hassan Sirewal (DO colleges), Babu Kirshan (DO), ADO Darya Khan Nizamani, ADO Ismail Bozdar, ADO Ibrahim Qaimkhani, ADO Ms Sakina Mari, ADO Ms Anwari Begum and ADO Ms Shamim Akhtar.
