SADIQABAD, May 5: A dacoit was killed and his two accomplices made good their escape during an encounter reportedly with police at Bangla Ichha.

This was stated by Rahim Yar Khan DPO Sarmad Saeed Khan while talking to newsmen here on Sunday.

He said that a contingent of RY Khan and Rajanpur police conducted a raid on the outhouse of criminals. Seeing police, the lawbreakers opened fire on police which was returned. Abdul Wahid Lathani wanted by police in scores of heinous crimes died instantly while his two accomplices Luqman Lathani and Long Lathani managed to escape.

The police rounded up a number of suspects for helping the bandits in the shootout. Two Kalashnikovs, some guns, several cartridges, a tractor and looted valuables worth thousands of rupees were recovered from the outhouse.—APP
