BADIN, April 28: Mir Ghous Bux Talpur, the general manager, Pir M. Sadiq Pir of Lowari Sharif, at a press conference on Sunday announced his support to the presidential referendum saying the election of Gen Pervez Musharraf as the President of Pakistan was indispensable for the economic development of the country.
Mir Ghous Bux said that more than 200,000 disciples of Dargah Lowari Sharif in the country including Balochistan and Sindh will vote for President Musharraf in affirmation.
He said the Dargah’s committee had made all arrangements for transport and other facilities to be provided to 2,500 voters of union council Lowari Sharif, and added that 100 volunteers were provided to the district administration for the purpose.
Meanwhile Badin District Azad Ittehad and leaders of the PML (QA) took out a big rally on Sunday in support of President Musharraf.
The rally, led by Syed Ali Bux Shah alias Papoo Shah, started from Vahahai Sharif. Marching through various towns and villages of the district it stopped at the Kazia Chowk Badin.
PPP: The president, PPP District, Badin, Dr Sikandar Ali Mandhro said that he had received 150 resignations from councillors including 28 Nazims who had won in the LB elections on the Awam Dost Panel.
Dr Mandhro told Dawn that the administration was appeasing councillors in one or another to win support for the referendum.
