MONTE CARLO, April 20: A thunderstorm crackling over the French Riviera disrupted the semifinal of the Monte Carlo Masters for a second time on Saturday with Spain’s Juan Carlos Ferrero leading Sebastien Grosjean 6-3 1-6 2-0.
The players managed just 12 minutes of action when they returned to Centre Court after an initial break lasting two-and-a-half hours before rain again began to fall.
Grosjean and Spain’s Ferrero were contesting the first semifinal of the day. They were due to be followed on to Centre Court by Tim Henman and Spaniard Carlos Moya.
Henman is bidding to become the first Briton to reach the final here since Welshman Mike Davies in 1960. Davies that year lost to Spaniard Andres Gimeno.
