ISLAMABAD, April 16: PTV, propelled by a well-struck 112 from Ziaul Haq, scored an 83-run victory against Pak Steel Tuesday in the First Choudhry League cricket tournament at the Shalimar Ground.

Zia cracked 12 boundaries in his 77-ball innings that lasted 101 minutes while his team-mates Inyat Khan (89) and Nasir Junior (51) made useful contributions as PTV piled up 310 for six in 40 overs.

Off-spinner Fahad Sultan was the chief wicket-taker for Steel, finishing with three for 63 in eight overs.

Pak Steel’s reply that revolved around an innings of 68 from opener Hammad and Bazid Khan’s fine 76, yielded 227 runs as they were all out in 34.2 overs. Nasir Junior claimed three wickets for 42 to put the brakes on Steel.
