NEW YORK, April 15: In preparation of her return to Pakistan to participate in the scheduled October elections, the former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has asked a number of international news organizations to accompany her back to Pakistan.

Ms Bhutto, who was in New York over the weekend speaking at a number of party and public meetings said that “there is no evidence against me and my husband of corruption and mismanagement.

“The charges are totally fabricated and politically motivated,” Ms Bhutto said, adding “I am willing to present myself to the court of the people.”

According to reports a number of American news organizations have expressed interest in accompanying Ms Bhutto to Pakistan when she returns.

Asked to respond to the charge made by President Pervez Musharraf that the Taliban rule in Kabul came into being during her tenure, Ms Bhutto answered with an emphatic No.
