Big wins for Punjab, Sindh

RAWALPINDI, April 13: Punjab and Sindh scored big wins on the opening day of the 11th National Baseball Championship at the Army Cricket Ground Saturday.

Punjab walloped NWFP 24-8 while Sindh hammered Balochistan 22-6 in this five-day championship.

According to the format of the tournament, the top team from the first round that has provincial teams, will advance to the second phase where they will play the departmental sides — Wapda, Police and title-holders Army.

Army, who have been tipped favourites to retain their title, open their campaign Sunday.
