ISLAMABAD, April 10: Ministry of Housing and Works has removed 57 officials of Pak PWD, Estate Office and National Construction from service on charges of corruption, inefficiency and misappropriation of funds.

This was said by Secretary Housing and Works, Muhammad Aslam, while briefing the minister Abbas Sarfaraz Khan here on Wednesday.

The minister was informed that by taking disciplinary action against the inefficient officials 42 were given minor penalty

He said “as many as 151 cases are still under process and 116 officials have been charge-sheeted.”

The minister directed the housing authorities for early completion of the inquiries. He said that there was no room for corrupt and inefficient officials, as the government is determined to eradicate corruption.

The minister also expressed concern over the delay of cheques by the Estate Office and directed to further streamline the process.

He said the action should be taken against the officials responsible in this regard. The minister also directed the Estate Office to get vacated official accommodation from the unauthorized occupants.

The secretary briefed him on revision of General Waiting List and stated that it would be completed soon. He also briefed him on the redevelopment of sector G-6/2, development of D-12 and G-13.—APP
