Shahida-Abedi pair triumph

KARACHI, April 8: Competing for Green House, the pair of Mrs. Shahida Qidwai and Shahid Abedi topped the Weekend Pair Bridge Contest held under the auspices of Karachi Bridge Association at Aslam Memorial Hall Sunday evening.

Exhibiting fine approach to the acol and technical dummy play Shahida and Abedi scored 65.78 percent to lead the field.

Mubashir Puri-Nasim Arzo with 61.01 % finished second while Azmatullah-Tariq Zafar with 57.74 got third spot.

In the Red house, Saleem Ahmed-Raees showed perfect combination and finished on top with 60.71% while Tariq Rashid Khan-Masud Master took second position with 57% and Lisle Foster-Brends Foster came in third with a score of 55.06%.

In the team event, once again Candyland proved their superiority winning four out of five matches from CNG 2000 21-9, Sharif’s Foursome 20-10 Akber 16-14, and Attackers 25-5 losing only the last round to Mushtaq 13-17 Victory Points.
