Police fail to arrest killers

Published April 7, 2002

MINGORA, April 6: The police have failed to arrest the accused charged in the murder case of one Rasool Khan Son of Arsala Khan, a resident of Islampur, after a week of the incident.

The inhabitants of Islampur have formed a joint action committee to pressure the police authorities for the arrest of the accused Falaknaz alias Sheena of the same village.

Mohammad Saleem and Amin, members of the action committee told this  correspondent that the accused was hailing from  an influential family and the police were avoiding his arrest. They feared that the delaying tactics on part of the police would give a chance to the accused to flee to abroad.

It has been reported that Rasool Khan was stabbed to death a week back, which was followed by a protest procession by the villagers.
