Two breaches in Rain minor

NAWABSHAH, April 2: Two breaches developed in the Rain minor of Dad division here on Tuesday.

Two and ten feet wide breaches occurred in RD-4 and RD-5 of the minor, respectively, near Ali Murad Mari village.

Wheat and other crops were destroyed and houses were also affected.

The breach could not be plugged till the filing of this report.

ARRESTED: One bandit was arrested by police out side the Habib Bank Limited, Naushahro Feroze, on Tuesday.

Tipped off, a police party followed the bandit, Rajput, accused of murder and dacoities, and arrested him.

SNATCHED: Two motorcycles were snatched from different places on Tuesday.

Two unidentified armed men snatched a motorbike from Munwar Malik on Mehrabpur-Behlani link road.

Noor Mohammad Qureshi was deprived of his motorcycle when two unidentified armed men took it away on late Monday night.

PROTEST: The shopkeepers closed their shops and markets in Khanwahan town for three hours on Tuesday to join the protest of a woman, Ms Wazeeran, mother of Wazir Ali Channa, who was criminally assaulted by Altaf about two weeks back.

Ms Wazeeran went into the market and complained that the police instead of arresting the accused, Altaf, had arrested her husband.

She appealed to the businessmen to help her in getting justice and release of her husband.

Meanwhile, Khadim and Nasarullah, brothers of the victim, caught the accused, Altaf, and handed him over to the police.

Teachers’ Salary: The acting district Nazim, Khalid Hussain Channa, has directed the owners of private schools to fix Rs1,000 minimum per month salary of a teacher.
