FAISALABAD, March 30: Two injured Al Qaeda members who were arrested by a joint team of the FBI and police on Thursday were shifted to Islamabad from a local Allied Hospital under tight security early Saturday.

Hospital sources told Dawn that an ambulance guarded by armed police commandos reached hospital in early hours and took Salar Abu Obaid and Nooruddin to the local airport. A special plane later flew them to Islamabad. FBI personnel reportedly supervized their shifting.

The sources said the body of an alleged terrorist who died in the shooting had also been shifted to Islamabad after autopsy was carried out by a five-member medical board.

The doctors of Allied Hospital, however, refused to provide any information about the postmortem report on the plea that “it is top secret and we are directed not to leak any information.”
