Water supply suspended

SANGHAR, June 5: The irrigation authorities, who had restored the water supply in the Toori Minor on Tuesday, closed it on Wednesday.

The Toori Minor carries water from the Mithrao Canal and besides the agricultural use of the water, it is also provided to the water supply scheme of Sanghar town.

On Wednesday, the three water reservoirs of the minor, each of a capacity of about 430,000 gallons, were filled three-fourth.

The drinking water was provided only for half an hour to Housing Society, Al-Mansoora, Dhak Para, Mithi Khoi and other places of the area.

The in charge of the pumping house told Dawn that the available water was hardly enough for two days and there could be an acute shortage in the town.
