SIALKOT, March 26: Four Pakistani villagers, including an old woman, sustained serious injuries in the fresh spell of Indian mortar shelling on the villages in Bajwat and Charwa sectors on Tuesday.

According to the official sources, Muhammad Ismail, 42, and Ghulam Husain, 50, were working in their fields in Janglora village in Bajwat sector when shrapnel of mortar shells fired by the Indian Border Security Force hit them, injuring them seriously.

In Biladpur Akhnoor village of Charwa sector, Manzoor Husain, 55, was standing in a street when bullets fired by Indian troops hit him.

In Jamal Jand-Merajkey village in Charwa sector, Maqbool Bibi, 58, was sitting in the courtyard of her house when some bullets hit her.

All the injured were admitted to the Sialkot CMH in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Indian forces continued heavy shelling on Pakistani border villages in Bajwat, Harpal, Sucheetgarh, Charwa, Jammu, Saamba, Akhnoor and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors.

Official sources confirmed that seven Indian soldiers were killed while several sustained serious burn wounds due to lightning in Bajwat sector. They were fencing the border when lightning struck them.

A Pakistani villager, Ashiq Husain, 33, was killed while Muhammad Azhar, 34, sustained serious burns due to lightning.
