ISLAMABAD, March 20: Five American nationals, who were injured in Sunday’s grenade attack on a church, were flown to the US by a special plane on Wednesday, the airport authorities said.

Earlier, the bodies of a US diplomat’s wife and daughter were also sent to America afternoon by a special plane, the authorities said.

A special flight of C-130 left for the US at 4:30pm on Wednesday along with the five persons — Candy Womble, Samuel, Jeff, Ms Emily and Luice.

A source said the special flight would make a stopover in Iran for refueling.

PPI ADDS: The police have sent DNA samples of the unidentified body to the US for analysis, officials said on Wednesday.

The police and investigating agencies believe that the unidentified body may be of an attacker.

POLICE NEGLIGENCE: In its preliminary report, the special task force, formed by President Gen Pervez Musharraf to probe Sunday’s grenade attack, said the attack was a result of police and security agencies’ negligence.

Officials said action against the Capital police high-ups was taken on the findings of the task force’s preliminary report.

US INVESTIGATORS: More US investigators arrived here to carry out probe into Sunday’s church attack.

The US State Department said it was sending more “special agents” to Pakistan to help in the investigation.
