LAHORE, March 17: Sixteen matches will be played in the two-day Pakistan Open pre-qualifying round starting at the Punjab Squash Complex and the Lahore Gymkhana courts Monday, for which 23 foreign players and 19 Pakistanis have sent their entries.
Another eight matches will be played Tuesday, before the two-day qualifying round begins Wednesday.
Dean Jensen is the first foreign player who arrived Saturday to participate in the pre- qualifying round.
A major portion of the March 22-27 main round’s matches will be played at the newly established glass court at Fortress Staduim.
Eight first round ties will be staged at Punjab Squash Complex.
This is for the first time that the matches are being played in an all glass court which has been especially imported from Germany and for which all preparations have been elaborately made.
