LAHORE, March 17: During the last minutes in an exciting final which saw the lead change hands several times, Uni Gas came from behind to oust Power Soft 19 5-4 1/2 in the SHV Cup polo tournament played at the lahore Polo Club Sunday.

Malik Asif Yar Tiwana scored the decisive goal in the dying seconds of the game.

In the subsidiary final, Nee Punhal beat Diamond Paints 2 1/2-2.

A minute before the bell rang to signal the end of the proper final, Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana converted a 60-yard penalty with a lofted hit to give Power Soft 19 4-4 1/2 lead. But Asif’s goal changed the fate of the match.

His weak, rolling shot off a 30-yard penalty, was stopped by Umar Sadik near the goalline but, Asif hurriedly pounced on the ball and scored from near the right pole with an angular shot to install Uni Gas as the champions.

For Uni Gas, Asif pumped in four goals, including the all-important one. Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana was equally brilliant to also strike four times and keep Power Soft 19 in contention till the last moments.

Both teams missed penalty-hits in plenty. Power Soft 19 muffed three sixty-yard penalties and Uni Gas missed a 60- yard and a 30 -yard penalty.

Bakhtiar Ali Pataudi fell from his pony in the third minute of the second chukker.
