4 of a family shot dead

JHANG, March 16: Five people, four of them belonging to same family, were shot dead by four unidentified assailants near Darbar Mirak Sial, in Shorkot tehsil, some 42km from here, on Saturday. The cause of killings is said to be revenge of the murder of Pir Sabir Sultan, who was killed last year.

Police said Anwar Sajjad, Mohammad Hakim, Mohammad Siddiq, Riaz and Siddique, all Jat by caste, were returning to their houses situated near Mirak Sail village in the evening. When they reached near Darbar Mirak Sail, four unidentified armed men, one of them later identified as Amanullah Shah, riding two horses, opened fire with automatic weapons, killing all 5 on the spot.

Amanullah Shah is stated to be brother of Pir Sabir Sultan who was killed along with three Malangs a few months back.
