Chinese wants Samiullah as coach

KARACHI, Jan 29: Chinese provincial hockey side Guang Dong want to re-engage former Pakistan captain Samiullah Khan as their coach, official sources said.

Sources said the club has approached the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to release the former Olympian and World Cupper from his duties as national selector.

Sources further said the club’s request has been forwarded to Samiullah who has put down certain conditions before rejoining them.

Samiullah was not available to confirm the approach or his preconditions.

Samiullah transformed a lowly rated club into national champions when he had a term with them last year. The club also toured Pakistan and played a series of practice matches against local sides.
