KARACHI, Jan 29: The Sindh Cabinet has decided to sell wheat stocks in the godowns of the Food Department at Rs800 per 100kg.

The decision was taken at an 8-hour long cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro at New Sindh secretariat here on Monday.

It was decided that besides Flour Mills, other interested parties could also buy this wheat. However, the wheat price would be exclusive of bardana price.

The cabinet paid rich tributes to Justice (retd) Abdul Rehman, who has resigned as law minister of Sindh, for his services.

The cabinet reviewed the devolution of power to the grassroots level and the governor directed that development schemes should be effectively implemented.

He issued a directive for the posting of Planning Officers in all districts and said there should be no slackness in respect of planing and development.

The governor said the aim of the local government system was to ensure the participation of local people in development activities in their respective areas and to take decisions and carry out monitoring at local levels.

At the meeting a Pakistan-born businessman and investor from San Francisco, USA, Abdul M. Suleman, was specially invited.—APP
