Reiffel quits

MELBOURNE, Jan 23: Former Australian fast bowler Paul Reiffel Wednesday announced his retirement from first-class cricket.

He said his resignation was immediate and he would not play in Victoria’s Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales in Sydney, starting on Friday.

Reiffel, who made his first-class debut in 1987-88, played 35 Tests for Australia and was a member of the 1999 World Cup-winning Australian team.—AFP
