Five shot dead in Upper Dir

MINGORA, Dec 13: At least five people were shot dead in the Sharingal area of Upper Dir on Tuesday night.

They were returning to their homes from a mosque after offering the Isha and Taraweeh prayers when armed men shot them to death.

Those killed were named as Aminullah, son of Fazal Qadim; Muhammad Wakeel, son of Khaista Muhammad; Gul Azim, son of Rozam Khan; Musa Khan, son of Zarmula Khan; and Bakht Zar, son of Yousuf Khan. They belonged to the Dogdara village.

In a police report, Rehman Nabi, Khan Zada, Rahim Zada, Fazal Munir and Abdul Latif were charged with killing them.

Khan Zada was said to have been overpowered and handed over to the area police.
