ISLAMABAD, Nov 26: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday charge-sheeted its 18 officials for allegedly committing irregularities while working with Machine Pool Organization (MPO), a directorate of the CDA, that deals with the heavy machinery and repair of vehicles.

According to sources, the action against the accused has been taken on the findings of a report of Special Army Monitoring Team which was deputed in the MPO for probing mal-practices and corruption allegedly committed by the CDA officials.

Those who have been charge-sheeted are the director, Maqsood Ahmed, 10 sub-engineers and seven deputy directors.

The investigation report of the Army Monitoring Team revealed that these officials had given extra benefit to the contractors in purchase of vehicles’ spare parts and heavy machinery, the sources added.
