STDC Board

KARACHI, Nov 24: Governor Mohammedmian Soomro on Saturday reconstituted the Board of Directors of Sindh Tourism and Development Corporation (STDC).

The Corporation has been given a new Board of Directors after 10 years.

The governor for the first time has inducted directors both from the public and private sectors in the board.

The board to be headed by governor himself. The board will have following directors: Ministers for Wildlife and Planning and Development, Chief Secretary, Secretaries for Culture and Tourism, Forest and Wildlife and Finance, CE/MD STDC, Fakir S. Ayazuddin, Shahid Feroz, Lt Col Sharif Akber, Mrs Yasmeen Lari, Shahid Ahmed, Shan Ali Junejo, Buzair Ahmed Soomro, Mrs Afshan Khan Nanji, Syed Shafqat Hussain Shah Shirzi and Khurshid Ahmed Junejo.

The previous Board after its constitution had not met even for once.

With the association of private sector, the tourism sector is likely to get a boost with the implementation of terrorism-related development schemes.—APP
