NAWABSHAH, Nov 8: A 35-feet wide breach occurred in Sujawal minor at village Chardad Sher Ali Shah near Daur late on Wednesday night.

The gushing water from the canal damaged the houses of Pehlwan Chandio, Sharif Deenari, Khudad Bux Deenari and Nabi Bux Khoso villages.

It also damaged the standing crop causing loss of thousands of rupees to the farmers. The villagers themselves plugged the breach after eight hours’ struggle as the officials of the irrigation department did not turn up.

BODY FOUND: Body of a new-born baby was found near a private hospital on Thursday.

Edhi volunteers buried it in the nearby graveyard.
