SARGODHA, May 1: Need to develop proficiency in written and spoken English was stressed at a seminar held here on Sunday.

Speaking at the seminar on ‘Science of Languages’ organized by Bab-i-Haram Institute, senior educationist Shujaat Ali Khan said the youth, especially the girls, should develop advanced writing and communication skills in English language.

He appreciated the efforts of Mian Muhammad Asif for setting up the institute to educate students on linguistics and phonetics with the help of modern audio-visual aids, computer lab and a qualified and well-trained faculty.

He said the students should avail themselves of the opportunities provided by such institutes to enhance the education and research standards in the country.

He also replied to the students’ queries during a question-answer session at the end of the lecture.
