KARACHI, April 30: A woman MNA from Karachi has allocated the entire amount of her development fund for electrification of villages in Tharparkar. MNA Gul-i-Farkhanda, vice-president of Baanhn Beli, at a meeting of representatives of village organizations in Mithi, announced to allocate Rs20 million for electrification of 15 villages of the desert district.

The amount will be used to provide electricity to 10 villages in Chhachhro and five villages in Mithrio Soomro.

A total population of over 20,000 people will benefit in the next 20 months.

Village leaders applauded this exceptional gesture of support by the Karachi-based MNA.

Baanhn Beli director Younis Bandhani and project manager Ali Hasan briefed the meeting on the status of implementation of different categories of small-scale physical infrastructure being provided through the NGO to thousands of village homes with support of the food stamp scheme of the World Food Programme.—PPI
