LAHORE, April 29: A sparkling batting display by opener Salman Butt and fine bowling by medium-pacer Fahad Masood helped Lahore Eagles score a four-wicket win against Karachi Dolphins in the opening match of the triangular series of the ABN Amro Twenty20 Cup at the Qadhafi Stadium on Friday. The Dolphins were all out for 141 in 19.4 overs. The Eagles reached theur target with four balls to spare. Salman, the Pakistan batsman led the run-chase with a 30-ball 40 that included six fours and one six.

Test wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal also played a key knock by hitting five boundaries in scoring 33 off 27 deliveries. Aamir Sajjad contributed 34 off 20 balls with four fours and one six.

Earlier, Fahad Masood took three early to put the Dolphins on the back-foot. The burly pacer, who finished with three for 28, captured the vital scalps of Dolphins skipper Moin Khan (20), Khurram Manzoor (3) and Mohammad Farrukh (0).

Even the presence of the swashbuckling Shahid Afridi failed to inspire the Dolphins. Typically, the dashing right-hander clobbered 25 off only 14 balls while bludgeoning four powerful boundaries.

Fahadullah (31 off 31 balls with one four and one six) and Aminur Rahman (21 off 20 balls with three fours) emerged as other notable scorers for the Dolphins.
