KOHAT, April 29: The Anti-Narcotics Force foiled an attempt to smuggle arms and ammunition from the tribal area near here into Punjab and arrested two carriers on Friday. An ANF team intercepted a car going to Rawalpindi from Darra Adamkhel at a check-point near the Gumbat grid station.

On search, the team found 20 pistols, 6,000 cartridges of different bores and 40 chargers of Klashnikov in the vehicle.

The ANF has impounded the car and registered a case against the arrested accused, Faqir Khan and Sarfraz Khan, residents of Darra Adamkhel.

It has initiated investigations to ascertain the names of the dispatcher and receiver of the consignment.
