PESHAWAR, April 27: Of the total estimated cost of Rs4.359 billion earmarked for improvement and standardization of 22 district headquarters hospitals, the provincial government has allocated Rs421.254 million in the 2004-05 financial year. Health Minister Inayatullah Khan said at a news conference on Wednesday the project chalked out by the former military-led government has been revised by the MMA-led provincial government and according to the revised allocation, special attention was given to the standardization of Bannu and Nowshera districts.

Giving the break-up of the allocations, he said that Rs13 million had been allocated for DHQ hospital Battagram, Rs21 million for DHQ hospital Buner, Rs25.419 million for Charsadda hospital, Rs19.668 million for Chitral hospital, Rs17.836 million for D. I. Khan hospital, Rs6 million for Hangu hospital, Rs42 million for Haripur hospital, Rs16.19 million for Karak hospital, Rs16.6 million for Kohat hospital, Rs5 million for Kohistan hospital, Rs20.448 million for Lakki Marwat hospital, Rs23 million for Lower Dir hospital, Rs24 million for Mardan Medical Complex, Rs23 million for Mansehra hospital, Rs14.484 million for Malakand hospital, Rs16.783 million for Swabi hospital, Rs11 million for Shangla hospital, Rs12 million for Tank hospital and Rs28 million for Upper Dir hospital.
