PBG record victories

RAWALPINDI, Oct 29: President BodyGuards (PBG) and Sialkot scored victories Monday, the first day of the Brinks Polo Cup at the Rawalpindi Race Course.

PBG, who had a 1-1/2 goal advantage beat Gladiators 8-1/2 to 5 goals, while Sialkot defeated Bahawalpur 3-1/2 to 3, thanks to a 1/2 goal advantage.

The scorers for PBG were Hassan Jaffar Khan who scored thrice and Taimur Mowaz Khan and Swr Mali Khan, both of whom struck two times each.

Malik Asif Yar Tiwana excelled for the Gladiators putting in all five goals but his efforts went in vain.

Agha Bilal, Swr Amir Ahmed and Swr. Muhammad Afzal took the scoring honours for Sialkot with a goal each in the fourth chukker. Lt-Col Tariq Ahmed netted all three for Bahawalpur.

Bahawalpur: Maj Ahsan Gulrez (0), Col Asif Hassan (0), Maj Haider Ali (0), Lt. Col Tariq Ahmed (1).
