Published March 6, 2005

KARACHI, March 5: Privatization and Investment Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on Saturday left for Jordan to represent Pakistan in a two-day conference being convened in Amman on March 6-7 under the theme "Territoriality and extra-territoriality: instruments for changing attitudes".

The conference has a preliminary task for setting up of a 'concept group', which will pave the way for the establishment of 'Asia-Africa Forum'. Pakistan is an important country in the region and can play a vital role in bringing region's countries together.

The discussions and deliberations in the conference will lead to concrete actions and tangible results in promoting economic, social and political cooperation among Afro-Asian countries.

Dr Hafeez will also hold meetings with potential investors in Jordan.
