KARACHI, Feb 12: A big rally was held here on Saturday against price hike and joblessness, that marched from the Baitul Mukkaram Mosque to Old Sabzi Mandi.

Hundreds of rally participants, carrying banners and placards chanted slogans against the rising prices of oil and daily-use items.

The rally, organized by the MMA, was led by MNA Assadullah Bhutto, MPAs Nassrullah Shajeu and Younis Barai, Syed Qutib, Syed Sallahuddin and others.

Addressing the rally, MNA Assadullah Bhutto said that lawlessness, joblessness and neck-breaking price-hike had made lives of commonman miserable. He said that despite falling oil prices in the international market, our rulers had raised the oil prices four times in just two months.

He said that dacoits in villages and street crimes and Bhatta extortion in cities have broken the back of people. He said that poor people were facing starvation and ruling class had spent Rs 13 billion to celebrate Basant.

He said that if the present rulers were not able to give relief to the people, they should better go home.

MMA Deputy Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly Nassrullah Shajee, in his address, alleged that the Sindh government had badly failed to provide security to its people.-PPI
