ISLAMABAD, Feb 8: The federal government has not yet taken any decision regarding the new determination of electricity tariff received from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), it was stated here on Tuesday.

Nepra has sent its determination of fuel adjustment on power tariff throughout the country, except Karachi, to the ministry for implementation. The Power Ministry will review the determination by Nepra and submit it to the prime minister for approval, said an official of the ministry.

He said the new tariff will not take effect till the issuance of a notification by the ministry and it will obtain approval from the prime minister in accordance with routine procedure. If the government does not take any decision on determination of Nepra the same tariff will continue, he added.-APP
