Nooruddin Shaikh laid to rest

SUKKUR, Oct 29: Funeral prayers for former mayor Nooruddin Shaikh were held at Makki Mosque here on Monday.

A large number of people, including his brother former Senator Islamuddin Shaikh and former federal minister Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah also attended the prayers. Nooruddin Shaikh had breathed his last on Sunday in Islamabad after a prolonged illness.

He left behind six sons and four daughters and a widow to mourn.

He remained mayor Sukkur, from 1985 to 1992. Islamuddin Shaikh was specially allowed on a day’s parole by the home department Sindh, to attend the funeral.
