Kashmir Solidarity Day observed

ISLAMABAD, Feb 5: To express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren fighting against the tyrany of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir, Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed on Saturday throughout Pakistan and Azad Kashmir with unprecedented enthusiasm.

A public holiday, people took out rallies in all big and small cities, held seminars and vowed to be with their oppressed brethren in their hour of trial.

As a mark of respect to the valiant struggle of Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir, one minute silence was observed at 10 am as all rail and road traffic came to a standstill.

The joint session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council was held at Muzaffarabad and the message of the President Pervez Musharraf was read out on the occasion.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz also affirmed full support to people of Kashmir in their struggle .

A human chain was formed in Muzaffarabad on Kohala bridge.

According to messages received from abroad, Pakistanis and Kashmiris celebrated the day with enthusiasm.-APP
