LAHORE, Dec 18: Governor Khalid Maqbool says the government is arranging courses for officials to enhance professionalism as well as specialized skills.

He told participants of 86th advanced course of public sector management at NIPA on Saturday that the duty of public institutions was facilitating masses by redressing their grievances.

He called for adopting a policy of merit and justice that the people believed that no injustice would be done to them.

He said officials of the departments having direct interaction with the masses must be humble and sympathetic towards them, while latest technology should be used and discretionary powers should be curtailed in administrative matters for checking corruption.

The governor declared devolution of powers in the new district governments system as a successful experiment.

He also called for adopting district service module as the officials appointed at tehsil level had got very important role to play in the new system.
