PPP convention on Tuesday

LAHORE, Nov 27: The PPP will celebrate its 38th birth anniversary by holding a national convention here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Makhdoom Amin Fahim.

Party's Lahore president Haji Azizur Rehman Chan said at a news conference here on Saturday that delegates from all four provinces would participate in large numbers.

The convention will begin at 11am at Ali Garden, Wahdat Road.

Provincial information secretary Naveed Chaudhry said on the occasion that the participants would renew their allegiance to Ms Bhutto.

He said the party would also try to erase the impression that Mr Zardari had been released as a result of some deal with the government.

Haji Chan announced a number of committees to make arrangements for the anniversary celebrations.

Others present at the news conference included Chaudhry Munawwar Anjum, Abdul Qadir Shaheen, Dr. Fakhruddin, Sohail Malik, Sajida Mir, Faiza Malik, Iqbal Sialvi and Dr. Ziauddin Bangash.
